Baby is about the size of Kidney bean (16mm)
Fingers and toes are forming but remain webbed. The embryo begins spontaneous movements—too small to feel. Eyelids are forming. The respiratory system is developing.
The uterus is now grapefruit-sized. Waistband may feel tight. Constipation may emerge. Vivid dreams are common.

Your first comprehensive prenatal visit is typically this week. Expect blood work and possibly a dating ultrasound.

Rectovaginal swab to screen for Group B Streptococcus colonization. If positive, IV antibiotics are given during labor to prevent neonatal infection.
